Now we are going to learn about Hispania. Hispania was the name that the romans gave to the Iberian Peninsula.
Hispania was divided into 5 provinces:
Tarraconensis
Cartaginensis
Baetica
Lusitania
Gallaecia
They built new cities , most of them are still in the same place. For example Mérida or Zaragoza. They used Rome as example to build their cities.
You have to read page 95 and copy this scheme.
Don´t forget to copy the map. It is so important.
Hispania fue el nombre que los romanos le dieron a la Península Ibérica. Dividieron la península Ibérica en provincias :
Gallaecia: Lo que ahora es Galicia , León y el norte de Portugal
Tarraconensis: Cataluña , Aragón , Navarra , La Rioja , País Vasco , Cantabria, Asturias y el Norte de Castilla y León.
Cartaginensis: Murcia , Comunidad Valenciana,Castilla la Mancha, Madrid y el sur de Castilla y León.
Baetica: Andalucía
Lusitania: Portugal y Extremadura.
Los romanos fundaron capitales de sus provincias , modernizaron las ciudades y para ello tomaron la ciudad de Roma como ejemplo. Muchas de las ciudades que fundaron están todavía en el mismo lugar, por ejemplo . Mérida o Zaragoza.
